The history

MRFS Group has grown from its launch as MR Security in 1983 to become one of the largest independent audio-visual, fire and security systems companies in the UK, offering consultation, design, supply, installation and maintenance for audio-visual, fire and security systems in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors.

In July 2006, Tony Bygraves, managing director of MR Security, sold a major share in the company to a group of investors with a view to expanding the business. This allowed us to continue to provide an unsurpassed level of customer service, while focusing on acquisitions in the sector.

In 2006 and 2007, the company acquired Hoffman Fire & Security, Oakley Systems, some maintenance and monitoring contracts from Arrow Security and finally Secure Line Ltd.

Following the successful integration of these businesses, in 2008 we relaunched as MRFS Group with a head office in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, where we have installed the latest telephony and computer technology, plus a new fleet of vehicles to maintain the highest levels of customer service.

Also in 2008, Brian Berry former chairman of Nikko Principal Investments, became a major shareholder and chairman of MRFS Group.

In 2012, MRFS Group acquired Secure Options (UK) and Sterling Alarms, incorporating North Grays Systems and Network Security Systems.
